I came across this article from Huffington Post - and it reminded me of Torn Lace.

It's interesting that the author of the article suggests that engagement anxiety is a universal among brides-to-be. If then, I wonder if it is because the anxiety resounds with all women that the runaway bride is so prominent in popular culture.
