I read an interesting article discussing the law in New York which requires transgenders to get convertive surgery, or sex change surgery in order to change their sex on their paperwork.

There are several lawsuits against this law with reasons of personal choice and even medical issues. It is interesting that a city is denying accepting transgenders without the surgery. This again opens the debate about whether an individual is considered a certain gender without possessing the correct sexual organs.
